Description sommaire

Plante terrestre. Taille de 7 à 30 cm. 2 racines, Les racines sont stolonifères. Feuille unique, oblongues, ovales. Bractées plus courtes que l'ovaire, lancéolées, apex acuminé. Inflorescence cylindrique, en grappe. Ovaire droit, pédicellé. Fleurs de 20 à 100, à périanthe étalé, jaunes, vertes. Sépale dorsal lancéolé, ovale. Sépales latéraux lancéolés, ovales. Pétales filiformes. Labelle avec languette ou épichile, supère, à apex acuminé. Chromosomes : 2n=28,30. Biotopes : alpages, forêts de conifères, mousses, prairies marécageuses, sphaignes.
